HELLO

Welcome to my blog where freedom, wellbeing, and financial wellness intersect. If you are on the fence of making a big life change, this is for you. Stuck in a job that makes you sick, ready to quit, but no idea how to make it work? Scared to death about what others might think? Not sure if you are ready, mentally, physically and financially? I got you. If you are ready for an honest conversation about personal growth and what it takes to pivot your life from good to great, you came to the right place.

MY OFFER FOR YOU

My name is Nike, and I’m here to guide you through the labyrinth of choices and challenges that come with the dream of a different life. I talk about the four areas of life that matter for a lasting, sustainable life change and that all too often nobody teaches us.

DARE TO THINK BEYOND LIMITS

GET A RESILIENT NERVOUS SYSTEM

STAY PHYSICALLY HEALTHY

FIGURE OUT YOUR FINANCES

Because no matter what your plans are or what your path is, big changes will put all of these areas in your life under a magnifying glass.

And if they are a shitshow, you’ll be in trouble. So in my experience, it is better to figure them out sooner rather than later, no matter where your journey goes. And I am here to show you how.

This is for you.

This blog is for you if you love the podcasts, the books and the messages from all the famous personalities and personal development gurus out there. Tony Robbins, Gabby Bernstein, Dr Joe Dispenza, Kate Northrup, you name it. And they’re great. I love them, too. But you might also know that most of them come from the United States and find that they - sorry - lack some perspective and experience when it comes to living and doing business outside their North American bubble. That’s why I am trying to keep things real and add a European perspective to a lot of these messages.

If you’re anything like me, you might also be appalled by the fakeness of a large part of the wellness industry, by its vague promises and sneaky sales tactics. Manifest your first million, anyone? Yeah. And I hate to see that. Because so many ancient practices and modern modalities like breathwork are incredibly beneficial. But the message is often delivered by the “wrong” crowd.

My goal here is to build a bridge for all those who feel that same way.

This blog is for you if

  • you are skeptical about “woowoo” stuff, and curious about ancient practices like Yoga and breathwork and how they can support you,

  • you are open-minded, and also value common sense,

  • you love to understand how things work, and don’t shy away from looking at scientific facts,

  • you want to follow a dream, and also know you live in the real world where you have to pay bills and file taxes.

tl;dr I know the struggle is real. Life can be lifey. Especially if you’re doing things that are considered outside the norm or pivoting in a direction where nobody else in your life is going. My goal here is simple: keep things real and fun and strip away all the unnecessary fluff. Cut out the bullshit and help you learn the things that matter for a big change. Understand your mind, your nervous system, your body and, yes, money. Money matters, looking at you, ladies. And we have to talk about it.

Get to know me.

Who is writing here?

First of all, me. Not an AI. Now that we got that out of the way, let me tell you my story. Born in the south of Germany, I dismissed a career as an opera singer and turned towards the seemingly safe route of law studies where my professional career began in the corporate world as an in-house-attorney in the music industry in 2012. After ten years, I took an eclectic turn from this safe job to venture out into the dynamic and crazy sphere of the crypto industry as a solo lawyer.

Why? One of my core values is freedom. And it became increasingly clear that a corporate career wasn’t for me. I know first-hand how hard it can be to figure out what you actually want to do with your life. How challenging it is when you take a wrong turn, then try to pivot and finally take the road less traveled. It’s one of the toughest choices I ever made. Leaving behind a comfortable life and jumping off the cliff without knowing if there’s a net. But for me, there came a point where this was the only choice.

How I worked myself into the emergency room

In the past 15 years of my life, I went through multiple health crises that gave me subtle and sometimes not so subtle hints that something was truly wrong in my life. But, as so many of us do, I did not listen. Because, on the outside, everything looked picture-perfect. Nice job, doctorate in law, nice career, nice apartment, nice boyfriend. Well, not so nice on the inside. This culminated in a dramatic visit to the emergency room in 2013 when parts of my nervous system shut down and I suffered from unstoppable vertigo for weeks, followed by a months-long struggle to learn how to walk again.

So yeah, I found out the hard way what it’s like to have royally fucked up your health by age 30. That is what set my determination to live a more healthy and aligned life in motion. It was the last push I needed to question my life choices. I took the first painful steps. Ended the relationship. Moved out. Decided to work less. But I still had no clue where these steps would take me or where to even go.

And what saved my ass

What I did know by then was that Yoga literally saved my ass on that journey. Turns out, training your brain to focus, to breathe through discomfort, to hang out upside down and in various funny angles, really, really helps your body and brain to recover when parts of your nervous system aren’t functioning properly anymore. According to the doctor in the hospital, I owe my full recovery to the fact that I dedicated so many years of my life to training core stability, physical balance and mental strength.

Yoga had entered my life as a teenager in the mid 90ies, wayyy before it was hip or cool. I had never heard of any of the famous American “Yoga influencers”. Remember the time before the internet? Yeah, it was that time. I started it, because my Mom did Yoga and I was curious. And now, for over 25 years, I have been a practitioner of Yoga and meditation. These ancient practices were my first steps towards unraveling the field of holistic wellness and ancient wisdoms that have now become a cornerstone of my life. And that allowed me to think beyond traditional career paths.

How I changed my life with online trainings

Ever since that awful visit to the emergency room, my commitment to my health and mental wellbeing is not just a passion. It is my way of life. A necessity to stay sane if you will. And online trainings really helped me to finally kick start my journey when the pandemic hit in 2020. For me, this forced pause was exactly the time I needed to focus on my passions and interests.

I am now a 500 hour Certified Yoga Teacher trained online by Brett Larkin, and have delved deep into the connection between movement and the fascia system by studying with both Dr. Robert Schleip and Tom Myers, two world-leading fascia researchers. My study of anatomy and a keen interest in aging healthily (you are never too young to start thinking about this, people), while maintaining a healthy range of motion, inspired me to pursue a certification as a Flexibility Coach from YogaBody, facilitated by Lucas Rockwood

The most recent, most profound and life-changing training as a Somatic Coach was a 400+ hours Somatic Coaching Certification in 2022, facilitated by Samantha Skelly. This coaching approach combines the knowledge of modern psychology with the latest research in neuroscience which allows for a deep, body-based and sustainable transformation. Its toolbox includes breathwork, sound and movement practices.

Making peace with the “woowoo”

Each certification was a step closer to understanding the symbiotic relationship between body, mind, and soul. And all of them were 100% online. How cool is that?

If you’ve read this far and you’re anything like me, you probably also pride yourself on being open-minded, particularly towards concepts often deemed 'woo-woo' by mainstream standards. I have a deep fascination with exploring the lines between science and what’s beyond, what might be considered magical, always striving for absolute honesty in these explorations. There are things that work, but we don’t understand why. And that’s okay, but I believe we have to be honest about it, too. Beyond the Yoga mat, my interests span to the transformative power of breathwork, Qi Gong, and psychedelics, used safely and responsibly in the right setting and under experienced guidance, advocating for a deeper consciousness and self-awareness. And of course, tech and crypto.

Why money is part of the journey

Crypto at its core is a means to freedom. I believe that true peace of mind cannot flourish on a bedrock of financial anxieties - a topic that is still very much a taboo in today’s world. And as a solo entrepreneur I know a thing or two about financial anxieties ;). So financial wellness holds a special place in my heart. I am not talking from a high ground here, I am absolutely guilty of taking care of my finances too little and too late and I have made some terrible financial decisions in my life, so I absolutely know what that’s like.

That is why I will provide content that marries financial literacy with somatic techniques and meditation, aiming to dismantle limiting thoughts that often don’t allow us to make progress - without us even realizing it. As a woman, I hope this will be especially beneficial for other women, because I know that women often shy away from looking at this topic altogether.

Where I am now

My journey reflects my belief in the power of continuous (and sometimes painful) growth and the challenges of trying to live a life aligned with my deepest values: freedom, achievement and authenticity. A life that now allows me to travel and live in multiple countries together with my boyfriend. We work mostly remote, preferably close to an ocean or in a cool-ass city in Southeast Asia. Our current favorites are Da Nang in Vietnam for the ocean vibes and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia for the city vibes. My journey was and still is tough. Running your own business is hard. And I run two: my solo law firm and my Yoga & Coaching company of which this blog is a part of. And this is only the beginning.

Why I am writing

I believe that we need more honesty out there. More friction and less wishy-washy nonsense. More options and a smarter way to pick the right ones. Because life is short and time is precious. It took me almost 10 years to start this new life. Through my blog, I aim to share this belief with you, offering a platform that not only guides you to the best online courses to get you started faster, and also offer guidance to a lifestyle where freedom, fun, wellness, and financial independence are not a contradiction. I can’t wait for you to change your life, with the support of the right information, actionable tools and useful hacks.

I am so happy you are here. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact me and ask questions. I love to hear from you.
